Box Score Emmitsburg, Md. (March 12, 2016)--The Mount St. Mary's University baseball team fell to Buffalo, 15-0, in the home opener at E.T. Straw Family Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulls (4-6) scored four times in the top of the first and two more in the second to take control of the game. Vinny Mallaro's RBI double opened the scoring in the first. The Bulls then added a pair of runs on an infield single and a Mount error. Andrew Taft's RBI double made the score 4-0. Buffalo added a pair of unearned runs in the second to push the lead to 6-0.
Joshua Lenig and Dennis Stewart each had a double in the game while Pat Daly and Alex Kriss added base hits. Mount starter Chad Diehl took the loss, allowing six runs (four earned) with three strikeouts in three innings. Seth Schubert, Austin Bonadio and Nathan Seltsam each allowed three runs in two innings of relief.
The Mount and Buffalo will play a doubleheader tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. at Straw Family Stadium on campus.
