SETTING THE SCENE
The Mountaineers open the week with their final non-conference game of the season as they host Hampton on Tuesday (Oct. 4) at 4 p.m. at Waldron Family Stadium. On Sunday (Oct. 9), the Mount is back in NEC action, taking on Saint Francis U at 2 p.m. in Loretto, Pa.

ABOUT THE MOUNT

The Mount owns a 3-6-1 record through the opening ten games of the season with victories over American (2-1 OT), VMI (2-1) and Temple (2-0). Last time out, Central Connecticut scored with 21 seconds remaining in regulation to edge the Mount, 1-0, in the NEC opener. Maddy Bunnell made seven stops in goal for the Mount, registering her fourth straight game with seven saves or more.  

The Mount's top-three scorers on the season, freshman Jaylyn Chander, sophomore Jenna West and junior Chloe Cain, each rank among the top-10 in the NEC in both points (5) and goals (2). The trio has combined to tally six of the squad's eight goals this season. Bunnell has started nine games in net, posting a 1.84 goals against average and .750 save percentage.

SCOUTING HAMPTON
The Pirates sit at 2-3-1 overall this season after collecting a 5-2 victory over Lincoln University last time out. Freshman Sydney Jackson led the way in the Hampton victory, tallying the first hat-trick in program history and adding one assist for a seven-point performance. Jackson tops the Pirates with nine points (3g, 3a) on the year, while Terisha Simmons (2g, 1a) and Jordan Crawford (2g) rank second and third on the squad in points, respectively. Goalie Maya Andrews owns a 4.27 goals against average and .658 save percentage in six starts in net.  

SCOUTING SAINT FRANCIS U
The Red Flash have lost three in a row to fall to 2-10 overall on the season. They opened NEC play on Sunday at Fairleigh Dickinson, falling to the Knights in double overtime by a 3-2 final. Sara Suler is the squad's leading scorer with five points on two goals and one assist, and Casey Gallaher is tied with Suler for the team-lead in goals (2). Julia Hernan has started all 12 games between the pipes, registering a 2.25 goals against average and .733 save percentage.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP
The Mount faces Saint Francis U for the 27th time in series history on Sunday, with the Red Flash holding a 16-9-1 advantage all-time. Last season, Saint Francis U edged the Mount by a 2-1 margin at Waldron Family Stadium behind Gaby Morales' game-winning goal.

The Mount continues NEC play with a matchup against Bryant on October 14 at 4 p.m. in Emmitsburg.
