MOUNT UPDATE:  After dropping the opening game of its four-game series with Sacred Heart last Friday, the Mount rebounded with three consecutive one-run victories to win its first NEC series this season.  Ryan Owens had two hits in each of the four games, going 8-for-14 (.571) in the series.  Jordan Lawson went 1-0 with a pair of saves and a 1.50 ERA against the Pioneers.

ABOUT THE SEAHAWKS:  Wagner has won five in a row to improve to 21-15-1 overall and 9-3 in the Northeast Conference.  The Seahawks are 21-7 over their past 28 games and are alone in first place in the conference.  Nick Dini leads the Northeast Conference with a .388 average, and he is hitting .512 in NEC games.  Anthony Godino (.356), Ben Ruta (.329), Nick Mascelli (.310) and Tommy Mazurkiewicz (.304) are also hitting over .300 on the year.  On the mound, Nolan Long, who is coming off a 13-strikeout game against CCSU, is 2-1 with a 3.04 ERA in six starts.  Closer Steven Bloodworth is 2-0 with a 1.67 ERA and six saves.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES:  Mount St. Mary's is 35-45 all-time against Wagner since moving to NCAA Division I in 1989.  Last year, the Mount split its four-game series at Wagner, winning both games of the Saturday doubleheader.  This will be Wagner's first appearance at E.T. Straw Family Stadium since the 2012 season.  Mount St. Mary's is 20-15 all-time at home against the Seahawks, including a 9-6 record since 2006.

AUTISM AWARENESS:  The Mountaineers have dedicated the 2015 season to Autism Awareness.  The team wears Autism Awareness T-Shirts in pre-game warmups, has autism pins on their hats, and has collected donations at all home games this year.  In between games of Saturday's doubleheader against Wagner, the team will present a check for the funds collected this year to the Arc of Frederick.

NEC BATTING RACE:  The Mount's series with Wagner features the top four hitters in the Northeast Conference.  Wagner's Nick Dini leads the circuit with a .388 average, followed by the Mount's Kory Britton (.373) and Andrew Clow (.360) while Wagner's Anthony Godino is fourth with a .356 average.  Last year, Clow finished second in the NEC batting race with a .3688 average, just .0005 behind LIU's Bobby Webb, who won the batting crown with a .3693 average.  In 2013, Tom Healy hit .380 to win the Mount's lone batting title since the school joined the NEC in 1989-90.

CLOW'S DEFENSE:  Mount St. Mary's catcher Andrew Clow has thrown out 20-of-47 (.425) base stealers this season, good for 12th in the nation.  Clow has been even better of late, throwing out 13 of the past 24 (.542) base stealers.

CAREER CHARTS:  Senior shortstop Kory Britton is hitting .373 this season while starting all 30 games.  Britton is third all-time at the Mount with a career .349 average (91-for-261)…Fellow senior Andrew Clow, who is hitting .360 this year, is currently 12th all-time at the Mount with a career .322 average (162-for-503)…Clow's 162 career hits are ninth all-time at the Mount, and he needs 10 to move past Josh Winter (2009-12) into eight place…Jay Knight has seven steals this year and now has a school-record 47 in his career…On the mound, Chris Campbell is third all-time with a 3.95 career ERA (98.0 IP) and fourth all-time in opponent batting average (.272).

THIS AND THAT:  Brendan Dabagian has reached base in each of the past 10 games, hitting .333 over that stretch...Zach Hostetter is hitting .351 over the past 10 games, with three doubles, a home run, and a team-best 10 RBI over that span...Ryan Owens has five consecutive multiple-hit games, going 10-for-18 (.556)...The Mount has won three consecutive one-run games, improving to 5-7 on the year.

DIEHL NAMED CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK:  Mount St. Mary's junior left-hander was been named the Northeast Conference baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week on April 13.  Diehl tossed seven scoreless innings in the Mount's 12-2 win over LIU Brooklyn on April 12.  Diehl allowed just three hits and two walks while striking out four in his seven scoreless innings of work.  Diehl is the second Mount pitcher to earn NEC weekly honors, joining Jordan Lawson, who won the award on April 6.  This is the first time the Mount has had two different NEC Pitchers of the Week in the same season since Kent Worthington and Mike Matta in 2010.

UP NEXT:  The Mount has its NEC bye weekend next week, and is next in action against Towson at home on Monday, May 11, with an 11:00 a.m. start.
