Venue Change: Due to the field conditions, the Mount and Army have moved their games from Emmitsburg, Md., to Morehead City, N.C. The teams will play a doubleheader on Friday, March 6, at Big Rock Stadium. The twinbill will feature a seven-inning game followed by a nine-inning contest.
Mount Update: The Mountaineers went 2-4 in their six-game season-opening trip to Florida. After downing North Dakota State and Omaha in the first two contests, the Mount ended the trip with losses to Kentucky, Northeastern, Maine and Villanova. Zach Hostetter paced the Mount offense with a .375 average while hitting the team's lone home run. Kory Britton is 8-for-22 (.364) while Ryan Owens is 7-for-22 (.318) for the Mount so far this season. Andrew Clow leads the squad with five RBI. On the mound, Chad Diehl is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA in six innings of work while Jordan Lawson and Scott Nickerson pace the team with seven strikeouts.
Army Update: Army is 3-3 on the season with wins over Dayton, USC Upstate and Longwood. Kris Linder leads the team with a .375 average while Mark McCants is hitting .333 with a home run and a team-high nine RBI. On the mound, Alex Robinett is 1-1 with a 0.60 ERA in two starts. He has 14 strikeouts in 15 innings of work.
The All-Time Series: This is the first-ever meeting between the Mount and Army.
