WEATHER ADJUSTS SERIES: Weather has adjusted the schedule for this weekend's series with Fairleigh Dickinson. With heavy rain expected on Friday, the teams will now play a doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's twinbill will start at 1:00 p.m. and will feature at nine-inning game followed by a seven-inning contest. Sunday's doubleheader also starts at 1:00 p.m., and will have a seven-inning game followed by a nine-inning game.
MOUNT UPDATE: Mount St. Mary's earned a split in its four-game series at Wagner on May 2-4 to move to 8-12 in the NEC and 15-22 overall. After dropping the opening game on Friday, the Mount won a pair of one-run games (4-3, 1-0) to sweep the Saturday twinbill. The Mount dropped the final game of the series, 6-2. Tommy Quealy went 4-for-11 (.364) at the plate to lead the Mount offense at Wagner. Karl Lamont and Nick Riley combined for a shutout in the Mount's 1-0 victory in the third game of the series.
ABOUT FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON: Fairleigh Dickinson was swept by first-place Bryant this past weekend and enters the series with the Mount with a 13-30 overall record and a 4-16 mark in the NEC. Zach Tondi (.317), John Giakas (.295) and Ryan Brennan (.292) are the top hitters on the team. Riley Moonan and Pat McClure are tied for the top spot with 23 RBIs. On the mound, reliever Eric Snyder is 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA and six saves in 22 appearances. Ryan MacDonald (1-2, 3.82 ERA) and Joe Flack (1-7, 5.54 ERA) have started the first two games in NEC series for FDU the past two weekends.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES: The Mountaineers are 44-31 all-time against Fairleigh Dickinson since moving to NCAA Division I in 1989. The Mount is 27-15 at home against the Knights, including a 15-4 record since 2005. The teams have split 16 meetings over the past four years. The Mount swept four-game home series against FDU in both 2007 and 2009.
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP: The Mount and Fairleigh Dickinson split a four-game series at E.T. Straw Family Stadium last year. The Mount won the opener, 7-1, before the teams split the Saturday twinbill. The Mount won the opener of the doubleheader, 17-0, before FDU earned a 10-4 victory in game two. The Knights captured a 10-7 victory in the final game of the series. Tom Healy had an incredible series for the Mount, going 13-for-16 (.813) with three doubles, a triple, two home runs, eight runs and eight RBI to earn National Player of the Week honors. Jay Knight (10-for-19, .526, 7R) and Nick Walker (.500, 5 SB's) also had big weekends for the Mount. On the mound, Vince Molesky pitched 6.1 scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in the 17-0 victory. Scott Nickerson struck out seven in 7.1 innings in the 7-1 victory in the first game.
CLOW LEADS THE NEC IN HITTING : Mount St. Mary's catcher Andrew Clow leads the Northeast Conference with a .383 average this season. Clow has 14 multiple-hit games this season, and is batting .362 in NEC play. The junior leads the Mount in average (.383), slugging percentage (.484), on-base percentage (.424) and hits (49).

PLAYOFF CHASE: The Mountaineers are still in the hunt for one of the four spots in the Northeast Conference Tournament. The Mount needs to win all four games against Fairleigh Dickinson, and have Bryant win at least two games against Wagner, to clinch a spot in the playoffs. The Mount can get in with a 3-1 record against FDU, but only if Central Connecticut State sweeps Sacred Heart, and Bryant wins at least two against Wagner.
HOME/AWAY: E.T. Straw Family Stadium has proven to be a hitter's park over the years, and this year is no different. The Mount is hitting .302 at home this season, averaging 7.15 runs per game. Andrew Clow is hitting .478 (22-for-46) with a .717 slugging percentage at home while Tommy Quealy is hitting .344 with 18 runs scored and a .512 on-base percentage. On the road, the Mount is hitting .240 while scoring 3.04 runs per game. The Mount pitching staff has not enjoyed the home field advantage, posting an 8.13 ERA at home this year. Vincent Molesky is the exception to that, going 2-1 with a 1.93 ERA in three home starts this season. The Mount pitchers have a 5.76 team ERA on the road in 2014.
NEC PLAY: Kory Britton and Andrew Clow are tied for the team lead with a .362 average in NEC games this season. Tommy Quealy is hitting .315 in league games while Chris Del Vecchio is at .298. Vincent Molesky is 3-2 with a 2.86 ERA in five NEC starts while Nick Riley has appeared in 14 of the Mount's 20 NEC games, going 0-0 with a 4.87 ERA and seven saves in 20.1 innings of work.
CLOSING TIME: Senior right-hander Nick Riley has appeared in 23 of the Mount's 37 games this season, tallying a 2-0 record with eight saves and a 4.18 ERA. Riley has struck out 21 batters while allowing seven walks in 32.1 innings of work. He has moved into second place on the Mount's all-time saves list with 13, while his eight saves this season are the third-best single-season mark in school history. Mike Matta (2007-10) holds the Mount's career record with 24 saves, while Bucky Kosyk had a single-season record 10 saves in 2006.
