MOUNT UPDATE: Mount St. Mary's won the final three games of its four-game Northeast Conference series this past weekend to improve to 13-15 on the season. It was the Mount's first Northeast Conference series win since taking three of four against Fairleigh Dickinson in 2011. After dropping the opener, 4-0, on Thursday, the Mount swept a twinbill on Friday (2-1, 6-2) before earning a 6-5 win in the final game on Saturday. The Mount pitching staff had a good series, tallying a 2.90 ERA in the four games while holding Sacred Heart to a .257 average. Kory Britton went 7-for-12 (.583) at the plate while Andrew Clow was 6-for-14 (.429) in the series.
ABOUT TOWSON: Towson lost a pair of games at UNC-Wilmington last week to fall to 17-16 overall and 1-6 in the CAA. The Tigers will host George Mason on Tuesday before welcoming the Mount to John Schuerholz Park on Wednesday. Peter Bowles (.289), Dominic Fratantuono (.288) and Brandon Gonnella (.287) are the top three hitters on the team. On the mound, Chris Acker is the top starter with a 2-3 record and a 3.86 ERA.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES: Towson has won 18 of the 20 meetings between the two teams since the Mount moved to NCAA Division I in 1989. The Mount has lost the past six meetings in the series, including a 12-7 loss last year at Straw Family Stadium on campus. The Mount's last win over Towson was a 9-4 victory on the road on Mar. 1, 2006.
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP: Towson jumped to a 7-0 lead en route to a 12-7 win at the Mount last year. Nick Walker went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles to pace the Mount in the game. Kurt Wertz led Towson, going 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI while Kurtis Voytell was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three runs scored in the win.
CLOW NINTH IN THE NATION IN HITTING, : Mount St. Mary's catcher Andrew Clow leads the Northeast Conference and is ranked ninth in the nation with a .412 average. Clow is 19-for-39 (.487) over the past 11 games with 10 runs scored and 13 RBIs. He has a .718 slugging percentage and an OPS of 1.230 over that stretch. He has reached base in 11 consecutive games, and leads the Mount with 12 multiple hit games.

BRITTON ON FIRE: Third baseman Kory Britton has caught fire at the plate for the Mountaineers. Britton is riding a 10-game hit streak, posting a .459 average (17-for-37) over that stretch. He has raised his season average to .337 and is second on the team in hits (34) and RBIs (19).
CLOSING TIME: Senior right-hander Nick Riley has appeared in 18 of the Mount's 28 games this season, tallying a 2-0 record with six saves and a 3.38 ERA. Riley has struck out 17 batters while allowing six walks in 26.2 innings of work. He has moved into third place on the Mount's all-time saves list with 11, while his six saves this season are tied for the third-best single-season mark in school history. Mike Matta (2007-10) holds the Mount's career record with 24 saves, while Bucky Kosyk had a single-season record 10 saves in 2006.
NON-CONFERENCE GAMES: Mount St. Mary's is 7-9 this season in non-conference games after the 3-2 win at Maryland. Last year, the Mount went 5-11 during the non-conference portion of the schedule.
