MOUNT UPDATE:  Mount St. Mary's swept NYIT in a four-game series over the weekend to improve to 6-5 on the season.  Andrew Clow led the way, going 9-for-16 (.563) with five runs scored and seven RBIs in the series.  Brandon Scott hit .500 (5-for-10) with eight runs scored while Tommy Quealy hit .400 with eight runs scored.  On the mound, Vincent Molesky tossed a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts in a 7-0 win that completed the four-game sweep.

ABOUT LEHIGH:  Lehigh enters the weekend series with a 6-8 record.  The Mountain Hawks split a pair of games on March 16th in their last outings, rallying for a 7-5 win over NJIT while falling to Fairleigh Dickinson, 9-1.  John Elson is hitting .360 with 10 runs scored and eight RBI for Lehigh while Joe Abeln has a .333 average with a team-best six doubles.  On the mound, Kevin Long is 2-1 with a 2.33 ERA while David Young is 3-0 with a 3.68 ERA out of the bullpen.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES: Mount St. Mary's is 4-1 all-time against Lehigh, including a 7-6 win in 12 innings in the season opener at Davidson this season.  Last year, the teams split a split in a pair of games played at the Mount's E.T. Straw Family Stadium.  The Mount downed Lehigh, 9-8, in 10 innings on March 15, and fell to the Mountain Hawks, 10-9, in 12 innings on March 16.

FIRST MEETING:  Earlier this season, Zach Hostetter drove home the winning run with a single in the bottom of the 12th inning to lead Mount St. Mary's to a 7-6 win over Lehigh in the season opener.  The Mount rallied with two runs in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings.  Kory Britton led off the bottom of the 12th with a double to set the table for Hostetter, who singled to right-center field with one out to plate the winning run.  Britton, making his Mount debut, was 3-for-6 with a double and two RBI to pace the offense. Frazier was 3-for-5 at the plate in his first collegiate game for the Mount, while Quealy, Owens and Hostetter each had two hits in the win.  Jordan Lawson struck out four while allowing just one hit in three scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win.

BIG WEEKEND:  Mount St. Mary's swept its four-game series with NYIT last weekend to move to 6-5 on the season.  It was the Mount's first four-game sweep of a series since April 2009 against Fairleigh Dickinson.

WIN STREAK:  The Mount's four-game sweep of NYIT gives the Mount its first four-game win streak since March of 2012.  The last time the Mount won five in a row was to close out the regular season in 2007.  The last time the Mount started a season with a winning record after 11 games was back in 2006, also a 6-5 start.

BEHIND THE PLATE:  Junior Andrew Clow had a strong week for the Mountaineers, going 11-for-21 at the plate to rais his average to a team-high .429 (15-for-35) on the year.  Clow also leads the team in on-base percentage (.488) while contributing seven runs scored, seven RBI and three stolen bases.

NICE BOUNCE BACK:  Vincent Molesky tossed a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts in the Mount's 7-0 win over NYIT on Sunday.  In his previous start against UMES, Molesky allowed eight runs (five earned) in 1.1 innings.  For the year, Molesky is 1-2 with a 5.87 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 15.1 innings.

RILEY OUT OF THE PEN:  Nick Riley has had a solid start to the season in the Mount's bullpen.  Riley is 2-0 with a 1.17 ERA in five appearances this season.  He has struck out eight with no walks allowed in 7.2 innings of work.

UP NEXT:  The Mount hosts Binghamton for a three-game series on March 29-30 at Straw Family Stadium on campus.
