Teaneck, N.J. (May 4, 2012)—Mount St. Mary's scored four times in the seventh to post a 7-4 win at Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday afternoon in the first game of a four-game Northeast Conference series at FDU's Naimoli Complex.

Trailing 2-0, the Mount scored a pair of runs in the top of the fifth to even the score.  Andrew Clow singled, moved to second on a bunt, and moved to third on a Brandon Scott base hit.  Michael Foster then reached first on an error, with both runners scoring on the play.

The Mount (13-34, 6-19 NEC) took control with a four-run seventh inning.  Clow again started the rally with a base hit and Jack Schwartz followed with a walk.  After a fly out, Foster doubled home both runners to give the Mount a 4-2 advantage.  After a Jay Knight walk, Mark Quaranta came through with a two-run double to give the Mount a four-run advantage.

Mo Moriarty homered to open the eighth to push the lead to 7-2. FDU, however, scored twice in the bottom of the ninth to cut the lead to 7-4, but closer Dan Horner got a ground-ball double-play to end the game for his fifth save.

Quaranta went 3-for-5 with two RBI in the victory while Clow and Moriarty were 2-for-4 each at the plate for the Mountaineers.

Karl Lamont picked up the victory, allowing two runs (one earned) in seven innings.  Horner pitched 0.2 innings to pick up the save.

Fairleigh Dickinson (21-22-1, 15-10 NEC) took a 2-0 lead on a Ryan Kresky solo home run in the third and an unearned run in the fourth.

The teams continue the series with a 1:00 p.m. twinbill tomorrow.
