Mount Update: The Mount lost to Saint Peter's, 1-0, in overtime on Sunday afternoon at Waldron Family Stadium. The Mount outshot the Peahens, 22-to-8, in the game, but could not find the back of the net. Goalkeeper Alicia Miller had three saves in the game.
About the Keydets: VMI lost to Longwood, 1-0, on Sunday to fall to 3-3-1 on the season. Amanda Berrios made 10 saves for VMI in the game as the Keydets were outshot, 26-to-2. The Keydets own wins over Howard (4-3, 2ot), Southern Virginia (2-0) and UMBC (2-0) this season while also posting a 1-1 tie with Saint Bonaventure. Sarah Strand leads the squad with four goals and an assist while Simone Jimenez had three goals and three assists. Berrios has started all seven games, posting a 1.60 goals against average and 50 saves in 619:42 of action.
The All-Time Series with VMI: Mount St. Mary's posted a 1-0 win over VMI at home last year in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Last Meeting with the Keydets: Kaylyn Mahon's header in the 61st minute lifted the Mount to a 1-0 win over VMI last year at Waldron Family Stadium. The game-winning goal was generated off a corner kick. Sadie Winship played a short corner to Jenna Stern, who crossed the ball to the middle where Mahon flicked the ball into the upper right corner of the goal. The Mount held a 22-to-3 advantage in shots in the game, including a 12-to-0 margin in the second half. Alicia Miller made two saves to earn the shutout victory while Heidi Beemer made nine saves for VMI.
About the Gaels: Iona is 1-4-2 on the season heading into a Friday night game with Rhode Island. The Gaels are coming off a 2-1 loss to Columbia in their last effort. Melissa Frederick, who scored the goal vs. Columbia, leads the team with two goals and four points. Kerrie Deignan had a goal and an assist for three points for Iona. In goal, Trista Rivera has five starts (0.73 GAA, .902 SV Pct.) while Jacquelyn Gates has started twice (1.50 GAA, .833 SV Pct.). Iona has allowed just seven goals in the seven games this year.
The All-Time Series with Iona: This will be the first-ever meeting between Iona and the Mount.
Bucknell Game Rescheduled: The Mount's home game against Bucknell that was postponed on September 14 due severe thunderstorms has been rescheduled. Bucknell will visit the Mount on Tuesday, September 27, for a 4:00 p.m. kick-off at Waldron Family Stadium.
Record Breaker: Senior goalkeeper Alicia Miller made eight saves at American on September 16 to break the Mount's career save record. Miller has posted 357 saves in 59 career games at the Mount and will break the school mark for games played by a goalkeeper at VMI on Friday. Anna Lebo (2004-07) set the previous record of 350 saves and 59 games played. Miller is also fifth all-time in school history in save percentage (.760), fifth in goals against average (1.96) and second with eighth shutouts. Miller's 1.19 goals against average last season was the third-best single-season mark in Mount history.
Extra Time: The Mount has gone to overtime in four of six games this year, including the past two. Mount St. Mary's opened the year with a 1-0 overtime win at Rider and followed with a 1-0 overtime loss to Saint Joseph's. The Mount tied American, 1-1, last Friday and fell to Saint Peter's, 1-0, in overtime on Sunday. The Mountaineers are now 4-7-7 in overtime games under head coach Tom Gosselin.
This and That: Freshman Alicia Mirando scored her first collegiate goal in the Mount's 1-1 tie at American…The Mount has scored just two goals over the first six games this year…Goalkeeper Alicia Miller has a 1.38 goals against average and is 98th in the nation with a .809 save percentage this season…Sadie Winship and Kelly Baker are tied for the team lead with 19 shots…37 of the Mount's 83 shots this year (.446) have been on goal.
Historic Win: The Mount's 1-0 overtime victory over Rider was just the second in a season opener for the Mount women's soccer team. It was also the first time in program history the team has won its season opener on the road. The Mount is now 2-18 all-time in season openers with the other victory coming against Delaware State (10-0) in 2005.
Clean Sheets: Senior goalkeeper Alicia Miller posted her eighth career shutout in the Mount's 1-0 overtime win at Rider. The eighth shutouts are second all-time at the Mount behind Anna Lebo, who had 10 shutouts from 2004-07.
Winship Moving Up Scoring List: Senior forward Sadie Winship has moved into a tie for 10th-place on the Mount's all-time points list. Winship, who has 10 goals and five assists in her Mount career, is tied for ninth all-time in goals scored.
Doubling Up: Courtney Zingle, a second team All-Northeast Conference pick in softball, and Meaghan Conlon, a member of the Mount's women's lacrosse team, each made their debuts in a Mount women's soccer uniform at Towson. Zingle, who hit .338 as a senior last season for the Mount softball team, is a fifth-year senior. Conlon, a junior, had nine goals and four assists while starting in all 18 games for the Mount women's lacrosse team last year.
Preseason Poll: The Mount was picked to finish 10th in the annual Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches poll.
Head Coach Tom Gosselin: Mount St. Mary's head coach Tom Gosselin is in his fifth season at the helm of the Mount's women's soccer program.
