Mount Update..The Mount has lost seven in a row
to drop to 12-20 overall and 6-14 in the Northeast Conference.
Starting pitcher Max Brittenham has been a bright spot on the
mound, tossing five consecutive complete games. Brittenham is third
in the NEC with a 2.29 ERA while leading the league with 59.0
innings pitched. At the plate, Andrew Caron is hitting .354 with a
team-best 25 RBI. Caron was 4-for-7 with six walks in the Mount's
four-game series at Bryant. Tommy Flynn leads the NEC with 13
stolen bases. He is hitting .349 with 28 runs scored, 10 doubles
and a team-high three home runs.
ABOUT THE TIGERS: Towson swept a
doubleheader against Delaware on Sunday to improve to 15-19-1
overall and 9-9 in the Colonial Athletic Association. Charlie
Cononie pitched a two-hit shutout in a 3-0 win in the opener before
the Tigers earned a 4-2 win in the nightcap. Andrew Parker leads
the Tigers with a .311 average while Chris Wychock is hitting .305
with five home runs and 21 RBI.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES vs. TOWSON...Towson holds a
16-2 lead in the all-time series since the Mount moved to NCAA
Division I in 1989. The Tigers have won the past four matchups
between the two teams, including a 12-3 win in March last year. The
Mount's last win over Towson was a 9-4 victory on March 1, 2006
