Mount Update: Mount St. Mary's lost a pair of games last weekend to fall to 2-4-0 in the Northeast Conference and 4-8-2 overall. On Friday, the Mount fell at Robert Morris, 3-0, before dropping a 2-0 decision to NEC leader Saint Francis (Pa.) on Sunday at home. The Mountaineers have dropped four of their past five games after a 1-0 win over Long Island in the NEC opener. Sadie Winship continues to lead the Mount with three goals while goalkeeper Alicia Miller has 93 saves and a 1.43 goals against average on the season.
About the Blue Devils: Central Connecticut State is 4-5-5 overall and 1-3-3 in the Northeast Conference after a 1-0 overtime loss to Long Island on Sunday. Rose Maguire leads the Blue Devils in scoring with five goals and three assists for 13 points. Brittany Jackson is second on the team with three goals while Allison Kelley, Jillian Cipriano and Jewel Robinson each have a pair of markers. In goal, Nikola Deiter has started all 14 games, posting a 1.34 goals against average with 83 saves.
The All-Time Series with Central Connecticut State: Central Connecticut State holds a 13-2-2 lead in the all-time series that began in 1995. The Blue Devils have won the past nine meetings in the series, including a 2-1 overtime victory in New Britain, Conn., last year. The Mount's last win over CCSU was a 2-1 overtime victory on October 1, 2000.

Last Meeting with the Blue Devils: Central Connecticut State scored in the 99th minute to down Mount St. Mary's 2-1, last year in New Britain, Conn. Sadie Winship scored her first goal of the year for the Mount while Alicia Miller made seven saves in the loss. Winship scored with 2:35 left in regulation to force overtime. Brittany Jackson netted the game-winner for the Blue Devils off Allison Kelley's second assist of the afternoon. Jackson took a pass from Kelley and nailed her shot across the net to the lower left corner at the 98:19 mark for the decisive marker. Kerriann Welch notched her third tally of the year and Nikola Deiter turned away three shots in the winning effort.
About the Bobcats: Quinnipiac lost to Long Island, 1-0, on Tuesday to drop to 3-8-1 overall and 2-4-0 in the Northeast Conference. Goalkeeper Jill Kelley made eight saves in game. The Bobcats have lost their past three games, including the past two by the score of 1-0. Furtana Velaj leads the team with five goals and 11 points while Shauna Edwards has two goals and a team-high three assists for seven points. Kelley has started all 12 games in goal with a 1.72 goals against average and 55 saves.
The All-Time Series with Quinnipiac: Quinnipiac holds a 9-1-3 lead in the all-time series that started in 1998. Five of the past eight meetings have gone to overtime with the Mount going 1-4-2 in those matchups, including a 2-1 loss last year to the Bobcats. The Mount's lone win in the series was a 1-0 victory on October 19, 2007.

Mount Wraps Up Home Schedule: The Mountaineers will be wrapping up the home schedule this weekend with games on Friday and Sunday. The Mountaineers are 1-5-1 at home this season despite allowing just six goals in the seven games. The Mount, however, has scored just one time (Sadie Winship's second-half score against Long Island) on the home turf.
Winship Moving Up Scoring List: Senior forward Sadie Winship has three goals this season, moving her into a tie for eighth place on the Mount's all-time goal list. Winship also has 29 career points, tied for eighth all-time on that list as well.
Record Breaker: Senior goalkeeper Alicia Miller is rewriting the Mount's goalkeeper records this season. Miller holds career records at the Mount for saves (412), goalie games played (67), minutes played (5,915) and wins (16) while she is tied for the school with 10 shutouts. For the season, she has played every minute in goal for the Mount, posting a 1.43 goals against average and a .816 save percentage. Miller leads the NEC in saves (93) and saves per game (6.64) while she is fourth in save percentage (.816).
Miller Named NEC Defensive Player of the Week: Mount St. Mary's senior goalkeeper Alicia Miller was named the Adidas/Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week on October 3. Miller had a 0.50 goals against average and a .933 save percentage for the Mount. She opened the weekend with a shutout in the Mount's 1-0 victory against defending NEC regular season champion Long Island. She made 10 saves in the game and the shutout was the 10th of her Mount career, matching Anna Lebo's (2004-07) school record. Miller followed with four saves in the Mount's 1-0 loss to Wagner on Sunday.
Starting NEC Play on the Right Foot: The Mount's opened Northeast Conference play with a win for the first time since 2002 with its 1-0 victory over Long Island on September 30. The last time the Mount opened conference play with a win was a 1-0 decision over Saint Francis (Pa.) on September 10, 2002.
Extra Time: The Mount has gone to overtime in five times this year. The Mount defeated Rider (1-0), lost to Saint Joseph's (1-0) and Saint Peter's (1-0) and tied American (1-1) and Bucknell (1-1) in overtime games this season. The Mountaineers are now 4-7-8 in overtime games under head coach Tom Gosselin.
PK's: Kelly Baker scored on a penalty kick in the first half of the Mount's 2-1 win at Iona. It was the Mount's first goal on a penalty kick since Kelli Devine scored against East Tennessee State on September 16, 2005.
Historic Win: The Mount's 1-0 overtime victory over Rider was just the second in a season opener for the Mount women's soccer team. It was also the first time in program history the team has won its season opener on the road. The Mount is now 2-18 all-time in season openers with the other victory coming against Delaware State (10-0) in 2005.
Clean Sheets: Senior goalkeeper Alicia Miller posted her 10th career shutout in the Mount's 1-0 win over Long Island. The 10 shutouts are tied with Anna Lebo (2004-07) for the school's all-time record.
Doubling Up: Courtney Zingle, a second team All-Northeast Conference pick in softball, and Meaghan Conlon, a member of the Mount's women's lacrosse team, each made their debuts in a Mount women's soccer uniform at Towson. Zingle, who hit .338 as a senior last season for the Mount softball team, is a fifth-year senior. Conlon, a junior, had nine goals and four assists while starting in all 18 games for the Mount women's lacrosse team last year.
Preseason Poll: The Mount was picked to finish 10th in the annual Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches poll.
Head Coach Tom Gosselin: Mount St. Mary's head coach Tom Gosselin is in his fifth season at the helm of the Mount's women's soccer program.
