Mount St. Mary's junior goalkeeper Alicia Miller (Lititz,
Pa./Warwick) has been named the Adidas/Northeast Conference
Defensive Player of the Week. Miller had a 0.49 goals against
average in two games for the Mountaineers last week.
Miller had eight saves in recording her seventh career shutout
in the Mount's 3-0 win over Bucknell last Wednesday. It was the
Mount's first win over Bucknell in 10 all-time meetings. The
junior added five saves in the Mount's overtime loss to Loyola last
Friday. For the week, she had a 0.49 goals against average and a
.929 save percentage in 183:12 of action.
For the season, Miller has a 0.87 goals against average and a
.818 save percentage while starting all nine games. Miller has
three shutouts on the year, just one shy of matching the
single-season record shared by Tonia Bruno (1995) and Anna Lebo
(2007). Miller has moved into third place on the Mount's all-time
saves list with 281, just two shy of tying Bruno for second. She
is sixth all-time at the Mount with a .755 save percentage while
her 2.14 goals against average is tied for fifth.
