Wheeler now has 26 career tallies to notch the sixth-most goals in program history and the second most in the Mount Division I era.

Jimmy Ockford (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) dished out an assist on Wheeler's first score for his first collegiate point for the Mount (3-2) while Chris Davis (Townsville, Australia/Kirwan State) made three saves to earn his second shutout of the season and 14th of his career.

Matt Perrella turned away four shots for the Broncs (0-4) in the loss.

Wheeler scored a goal in each half and Davis held Rider off the scoreboard to help Mount St. Mary's to its third-straight win against the Broncs. The Mountaineers have won their last three matches to improve to 3-2 on the year for the first time since the 2008 season.

Wheeler gave Mount St. Mary's the lead it would not relinquish when took a pass from Ockford and hit a lob over the goalkeeper from 18-yards out at 13:49 for a 1-0 advantage. The junior then sealed the win in the second half when he knocked in a rebound from six-yards away at the 56:47 mark to increase the lead to 2-0.

In the second half, the senior turned away a shot on Andrew Cotes in the 52nd minute while Dan Friga gave Rider their final chance to break up the shutout before missing wide in the 83th minute.
