EMMITSBURG, MD (August 31, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's redshirt sophomore
Christian Kyriacou registered his first collegiate goal as the men's soccer squad picked up its second draw of the season in a 1-1 final with the Saint Joseph's Hawks.
Not only did Kyriacou earn his first goal, but freshman
Lincoln Bauer also earned his first point as a collegiate player, assisting on the strike.
Both offenses were firing in the match, combining for 31 shots. Mount St. Mary's had more shots on goal with six, but Saint Joseph's took more chances with 18. Mount's goalkeeper
Ryan Collins captured three saves.
The result put the Mount at 0-1-2 for the season.
HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
- Rob Myrick provided the first goal of the contest, earning his strike in the 33rd minute. The Hawks player took the shot off a setup for Herman Reffsgaard.
- Kyriacou's goal came in the 51st minute as Bauer placed one for his teammate at the top of the box. The Ontarian blazed past a defender and planted a left-foot strike in the right corner.
- Mount St. Mary's played the final six minutes with 10 men after Daniel Morales Silva picked up a second yellow.
