Trumbull, Conn. (April 23, 2010)-Mount St.
Mary's lost both games of a doubleheader at Sacred Heart on Friday
afternoon. The Pioneers took the first game, 12-0, before winning
the nightcap, 14-4.
In the opener, Sacred Heart scored a run in the bottom of the
second and four more in the third to take control of the game.
Chris Zaccherio struck out eight while scattering eight hits for
the complete-game shutout.
Tommy Flynn went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Mount in the
loss.
In the second game, Sacred Heart (16-20, 7-7 NEC) scored six
runs in the bottom of the fourth to break open a 2-0 game en route
to the win.
Kyle Kane went 2-for-3 with two RBI while Flynn added two hits
in the loss. Sacred Heart had 17 hits in the game, including four
from Robert Griffith.
The teams complete the four-game series with a doubleheader
tomorrow starting at noon.
