Baseball to Face Penn State on Wednesday

Mount Update: Mount St. Mary's split a four-game series with Bryant this past weekend and enters Wednesday's game at Penn State with a 14-19 record. Shane Eyler hit a pair of home runs in the Bryant series. Andrew Caron leads the Mount with a .333 average while adding four home runs and 16 RBI. Josh Winter is hitting .330. On the mound, closer Mike Matta is 2-3 with a 2.23 ERA and four saves.

About Penn State: Penn State defeated Duquesne, 15-9, Tuesday night to improve to 15-20 on the season. Jordan Steranka had four hits to pace the offense while five players in all had multiple-hit games. Sean Deegan went 2-for-4 with a triple, home run and five RBI in the game. Ben Heath leads the Nittany Lions with a .368 average, 12 home runs and 40 RBI. Elliott Searer is hitting .365 while Joey DeBernardis is hitting .342.

The All-Time Series with Penn State...This will be the third meeting between the Mount and Penn State with all three being played at Penn State's Medlar Field. The Mount posted a 16-8 win over the Nittany Lions in 2007 before falling 8-3 at Penn State last year.
