Women's Soccer Hosts Bryant on Friday Afternoon

Mount Update:  The Mount split its trip to New York last weekend, rallying for a 2-1 overtime win at Wagner on Friday before falling to NEC leader, 1-0, on Sunday.  In the win over Wagner, senior Jenna Stern tied the game with her first collegiate goal with just 39 seconds left in regulation.  Jackie Corley then scored the game-winner off a long throw-in from Amy Song with 11 seconds remaining in the first overtime.  On Sunday, the Mount saw Long Island score with just under 10 minutes remaining to earn the 1-0 win.

Bryant Update:  Bryant has lost four consecutive one-goal games to fall to 5-11-2 overall and 3-4-1 in the Northeast Conference.  Last weekend, the Bulldogs lost to Quinnipiac, 1-0, at home on Friday before losing by the same 1-0 score at Central Connecticut State on Sunday. 

The All-Time Series with Bryant: The Mount pulled out a 2-1 overtime win at Bryant last year in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

Last Year's Meeting...Emily Menotti scored in the second overtime to lift the Mount to a 2-1 win last year.  The Mount rallied from a 1-0 second-half deficit to earn the victory.  Menotti's goal completed a rally that saw the Mount score with 2:03 left in regulation to force overtime.  Mary McCarron added an assist on the game-winning goal.  At the end of regulation, Sadie Winship drilled a deep shot into the left inside part of the goal to tie the score with 2:03 remaining.  Bryant took a 1-0 lead on a Kaitlyn Hinck goal in the 59th minute. The Bulldogs held a 31-to-24 edge in shots in the game.  Kelsi Jacob had 14 saves for the Bulldogs while Alicia Miller made 12 saves in the win.

Chambers Set to Tie Games Played Record...Senior defender Kaitlyn Chambers is set to tie the Mount's all-time games played record against Bryant on Friday.  Chambers has appeared in 74 games for the Mountaineers in her career, just one shy of Emily Menotti's school mark of 75.  Teammate Jenna Stern has played 72 career games, which is tied for third on the list.

A Long Time Coming...Senior Jenna Stern scored the game-tying goal at Wagner with 39 seconds left in regulation.  It was Stern's first career goal and it came in her 71st game in a Mount uniform.  Stern has one goal and three assists in 72 career games for the Mountaineers.

Close Encounters...Nine of the Mount's 11 losses this season have been by a one-goal margin.  The Mount has dropped six games by the score of 1-0 and three by 2-1 margins.

Offense Struggling...The Mountaineers have scored 14 goals on the season, an average of 0.78 per game.  The Mount's 2-1 win over Wagner last Friday was the second time this season the Mount has scored more than one goal in a game.  The Mount's season high for goals was three in a 3-0 win at Bucknell.

Miller Closing in on All-Time Save Record...Goalkeeper Alicia Miller has moved into second place on the Mount's all-time save list with 315 in 51 career games.  Miller, who has a 1.23 goals against average and a .769 save percentage this year, is sixth all-time at the Mount in career save percentage (.752) and fifth in goals against average (2.06).

Defense...The Mount has allowed 26 goals this season in 18 games (1.44/game).  It is the fewest goals allowed in a season since the 1996 squad allowed 25.

PK's...Freshman Jackie Corley drew a foul in the penalty box against Towson to give the Mount its first penalty kick during head coach Tom Gosselin's tenure at the Mount.  The Mount's last PK came against Fairleigh Dickinson on Oct. 1, 2006.  The Mount's last successful penalty kick was scored by Devine on Sept. 16, 2005, against East Tennessee State.

Non-conference Action...The Mount has completed its non-conference portion of the schedule.  The Mountaineers are 8-26-3 in non-conference games under head coach Tom Gosselin, but are 5-7-3 over the past 15 non-conference games, including a 3-4-2 mark this year.
