Annapolis, Md. (September 12, 2009)--Mount St. Mary's sophomore Dylan Bernard (Frederick, Md./Urbana) finished in 11th place overall at the Navy Invitational to pace the men's cross country team. In the women's race, freshman Megan Kinsella (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) was 21st in the Salty Dog Invitational.

Bernard finished the 8K course in 25:22 to pace the Mountaineers, who tied for eighth place at the event. Freshman Chris Swisko (Aberdeen, Md./Calvert Hall) was 35th overall in a time of 26:39.20 for the Mountaineers. Freshman Sean Caskey (Dundalk, Md./Calvert Hall) and Kyle Ryan (New Market, Md./Linganore) were the Mount's next two finishers, placing 46th and 49th overall in the field.

The Mount women also finished in eighth place in their race. Kinsella led all Mount runners with her 21st place finish, running the 6K course in a time of 23:46.13. Fellow freshman Kathryn Franke (Glen Arm, Md./Loch Raven) was the next fastest Mountaineer, finishing in 39th place.

The Mount returns to action next week at the Quinnipiac Invitational in Hamden, Conn., on September 19.
