Bethlehem, Pa. (October 2,
2009)--Mount St. Mary's sophomore Dylan
Bernard (Frederick, Md./Urbana) finished in 17th place
overall in the Brown Race at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh on
Friday afternoon. The Mount men's team finished 26th in the field
of 38 teams at the event. On the women's side, freshman
Megan Kinsella (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central
Catholic) finished 33rd overall. The women's team placed
37th in the field of 39.
Bernard had a time of 25:30 for the 8K
course to finish 17th overall in the field of 323 runners.
Freshman Chris Swisko (Aberdeen, Md./Calvert Hall)
was the Mount's second-best finisher, posting a time of 26:00, good
for 43rd in the field. Kyle Ryan (New Market,
Md./Linganore), Sean
Caskey (Dundalk, Md./Calvert Hall) and John
McAuliffe (Reisterstown, Md./Loyola Blakefield)
rounded out the Mount's top five runners.
Kinsella finished the 6K course in a time
of 22:34 to finish 33rd in the field of 338
runners. Colleen Smith (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle),
Brianne Vozzella (Hershey,
Pa./Lower Dauphin), Kelsey Greene (Ocean City,
N.J./Ocean City) and Brianna Mannuccia (North
Hanover, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) rounded out
the Mount's top five.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action in two
weeks at the Penn State National Invitational on October 16.
