Tom Gosselin, a 1991 graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University, enters his ninth season as the head women’s soccer coach at his alma mater in 2015.

Ranking second in program history with 37 career coaching victories, Gosselin has molded the Mountaineers into competitors on the field in the Northeast Conference as well as in the classroom.

Gosselin, who enters the 2015 season two wins shy of tying Paul Wood for the Mount’s career wins record (39 wins from 1998-2006), has produced four All-Conference performers (Anna Lebo and Karyn Farrar - 2007; Alicia Miller - 2011; Jackie Corley - 2013) as well as two All-Rookie team selection (Alicia Mirando – 2011; Jordan Fine - 2014) during his tenure at the Mount.

On a national level, Gosselin’s teams have been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with five Team Academic Awards for putting together a team GPA of 3.0 or better for an academic year (2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14).

The 2013 season produced a number of achievements for the Mount. In addition to Jackie Corley earning Second Team All-NEC, Mount St. Mary’s received the Northeast Conference Team Sportsmanship Award. Academically, the Mount was honored with an NCAA Public Recognition Award in May of 2014 for finishing with an Academic Progress Report (APR) in the top 10 percent of Division I women’s soccer programs.

In 2012, Gosselin guided the Mount to its first seven-win season since 2000. With a 7-11-1 record, including a 2-7-1 record against the Northeast Conference, the Mount’s 2012 squad tied for the second-most wins in program history for a single season. The 2012 Mountaineers also opened the season with a 3-2 record for the first time since 1994, and the team’s four home victories were the most since winning five in 2000.

The Mount’s 2011 team put together another six-win season with a 6-10-2 record highlighted by a 1-0 defeat of eventual NEC Champion LIU Brooklyn to open conference play.

In 2009, the Mount posted a 6-11-2 overall record and a 4-5-1 mark in the Northeast Conference last year.  The six overall wins were the most by a Mount team since the 2003 squad finished 6-9-2.  The four NEC wins marked the most by a Mount team since 2002. The Mount also went 4-3-2 on the road, marking the first time in program history the team had a winning record away from home.

In his first season at the Mount in 2007, Gosselin led his squad to a 5-13-0 record, including a 3-6-0 mark in the Northeast Conference.  The team set a school record with four road victories and the three NEC wins were the most by a Mount team since 2002.

Prior to returning to the Mount, Gosselin spent three seasons as head coach of the women’s soccer team at McDaniel College, posting a 23-26-2 record during the 2004, 2005 and 2006 seasons. Gosselin was an assistant coach on the Mount St. Mary's men's staff from 2002-04.

Gosselin spent nine seasons as head coach at Wyomissing High School in Pennsylvania.  He was named Berks County (Pa.) Coach of the Year after guiding Wyomissing to a County Championship in 1996. He had nine-consecutive winning seasons at Wyomissing.  He also assisted the boy's soccer team at Wyomissing, playing an integral role in their 1994 State Championship and 1996 appearance in the State Finals.

Following his tenure at Wyomissing, Gosselin spent two seasons as a men's assistant at Alvernia College in Reading, Pa., before returning to be an assistant for the men’s soccer team at the Mount. Gosselin's father, Thomas, is a 1964 graduate of the Mount.

Gosselin graduated from Mount St. Mary’s in 1991 after a four-year playing career as a goalkeeper for the Mount’s men’s soccer team under legendary Head Coach Jim Deegan.
