Riley Maye

Riley Maye joins Mount women's basketball as an assistant coach, joining the staff for the 2024-25 season.
 
Maye comes to Emmitsburg from Harcum College in Bryn Mayr, Pennsylvania, where he worked with the Bears for the past six years. Harcum went 28-6 for the 2023-24 campaign and was ranked as high as third among National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) teams. The Bears went on to win twice at the NJCAA DII Women's Basketball Championship, defeating Lake Land College and Union College. On March 9, they defeated Sullivan County Community College for the DII East District B Championship, aiding his District Coach of the Year selection.
 
Across his four seasons at the helm, Maye earned a record of 83-31 which also encompasses a 30-4 record in 2022-23. Players under his guidance include Amaris Baker, NJCAA leading scorer, First Team All-American, and Region 19 Player of the Year; five All-Region First Team selections, and a pair of NJCAA All-Tournament honorees. Baker went on to play at Drexel, headlining several players who made the NCAA jump along with Courtney Turner (FIU), Jasmyn Jefferies (Claflin), and Ciara Bailey (Morgan State) to name a few.
 
Additional stops for Maye are the Philadelphia Belles, an EYBL and National Team allowing for the opportunity to coached more than 30 Division I athletes and three McDonald's All-Americans. Prior to Harcum, he worked for one year with Lehigh men's basketball as their Director of Operations.
 
As an athlete, he was a four-year player at Norfolk State where he competed in 68 games and scored 174 points for the Spartans. In his senior season, he participated in 33 games with 10 starts while averaging 4.5 points per game. Maye was a member of the 2012 NSU team that won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title and went on to defeat #2 seeded Missouri in the NCAA tournament.
