September 16, 2026--Mount St. Mary's junior guard Abdou Khadre Kebe has been named to the Preseason All-Metro First Team, as selected by the league's head coaches. The Mountaineers are tabbed to finish in eighth place in the annual Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Kebe averaged 7.7 points and 5.6 rebounds for the Mount last year, starting 13 times in 22 games played. Selected to the MAAC All-Defensive team, Kebe averaged 11.2 points and 9.9 rebounds over a six-game stretch from late January to mid-February. He scored in double figures seven times and had three double-figure rebound games, including a career-high 16 in the Mount's win over Iona.
Mount St. Mary's, entering its fourth season in the Metro Conference, finished 15-17 overall and 11-9 in league play last season. The Mountaineers earned the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament, falling to eventual champion Siena, 63-58, in the quarterfinal round.
The Mount opens the 2026-27 season with a home exhibition game against Navy on Wednesday, October 28, at 7:00 p.m. The first game of the regular season is at Xavier on Monday, November 2, while the home opener will be against longtime rival Loyola on Friday, November 6, at 7:00 p.m.
