EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 8, 2026) – Senior
Hailey Chester recorded two major milestones in the Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse game at Fairfield, serving as the bright spot in a tough game for the Mountaineers, falling 12-4 to the Stags.
In the second quarter, Chester secured her 200
th career draw control. She is now the second person in school history to collect over 200 draw controls, joining record holder
Beanie Colson. Earlier in the game, Chester notched her 100
th career ground ball in the first quarter, becoming the 36
th Mountaineer to reach the landmark.
For the game itself,
Ava Kraszewski was the Mount's multi-goal scorer.
Brooke Molchanoff and
MK Allingham also added goals.
Mackey Fick had three ground balls, and Chester led in caused turnovers with two of them.
Camille Thomas finished with eight saves.
The result stopped a five-game winning streak and puts the team's record at 9-5 with a 5-1 record in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
- Fairfield opened a 3-0 lead before Kraszewski's first goal opened the Mount's scoring.
- Molchanoff scored the team's second goal, but the team trailed 5-2 at halftime.
- The Stags took full control with four goals to open the second half.
