BALTIMORE, Md. (April 11, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse battled back from an 8-2 deficit to tie the score at 10-10, but it was not enough to overcome a late Canisus charge as the Golden Griffins defeated the Mountaineers, 14-11.
Brooke Molchanoff led in goals with three, and
MK Allingham had the most points with five, thanks to two goals and three assists.
Morgan Ortega was also a multi-goal scorer.
On defense,
Logan Cook had three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
Camille Thomas finished with 10 saves.
The Mount's record stands at 9-6 for the season and 5-2 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
- Canisius gained the early upper hand with a 5-2 first quarter.
- After falling behind 8-2, the Mountaineers went on a ferocious run to end the first half. Kraszewski, Bittinger, Ortega, and Molchanoff all scored to make it 8-6 at the break.
- Mount continued to rally, leveling the game at 10-10 on a goal from Molchanoff.
- Canisius countered on the next two goals and maintained the advantage the rest of the way.
