EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 9, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's will host the 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) 2026 Esports Championships over the weekend. The event runs three days beginning early evening Friday (Apr. 10) through Sunday (Apr. 12).
 
Competitors will face off in five different games – Rocket League, Overwatch, Super Smash Brothers, League of Legends, and Valorant. There are five League of Legends teams, seven for Overwatch, eight for Valorant, nine for Rocket League, and 11 for Super Smash Brothers.
 
From the Mount's perspective, the esports team are a favorite for Super Smash Brothers, winning a victory at the Mid-Atlantic Esports Conference last year. Individual top performers include Hayden McKee in Rocket League and Corey Faustin in Super Smash Brothers.
 
Admission to the event is free. Contests take place inside Knott Arena and the Dillon Field House.
