EMMITSBURG, Md. — Mount St. Mary's women's tennis continued its historic run with a 6–1 victory over Wagner, extending its winning streak to eight matches. The Mount improves to 10–7 overall, while Wagner falls to 7–10.
The eight-match winning streak is the program's longest since the 1994–95 team opened the season with 12 consecutive victories. The 10 wins are also the most for the program since the 2011–12 squad finished 11–8.
Mount dominated doubles play to secure the opening point, sweeping all three matches. Bella Pescatore and Venus Tang earned a 6–3 win at No. 1, Anna Barlini and Emma Perkins rolled to a 6–0 victory at No. 2, and Margherita Trolese and Eirini Tsakiri completed the sweep with a 6–1 win at No. 3.
In singles, the Mount claimed five of six matches to seal the team victory. Eirini Tsakiri led the way with a 6–1, 6–1 win at No. 2, while Venus Tang followed with a 6–3, 6–0 decision at No. 3. Margherita Trolese added a 6–3, 6–3 win at No. 4, Bella Pescatore earned a 6–1, 6–4 victory at No. 5, and Anna Barlini closed out the scoring with a 6–1, 6–3 win at No. 6. Wagner's lone point came at No. 1 singles, where Victoria Madail edged Emma Perkins in a match tiebreak, 2–6, 6–1, 1–0 (10–7).
