EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 20, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's baseball fell to the visiting Rider Broncs on Friday afternoon by a score of 12-3. With the loss, the Mountaineers fall to 10-9 on the year while falling to a 4-3 record in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
The Mountaineer jumped on the board first after
Phoenix Williams sent a hard hit single through the middle of the infield, scoring
Parker Hildebrand. Rider dispatched a grand slam I the third inning before
Nate Wiles was hit by a pitch, driving
Christian Bauman into score and halve the Broncs lead.
Rider riddled off three runs in the seventh before
Bryce Rudisill hit a towering shot to center field out for a home run. Rider scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning, eventually rounding out the game.
Rudisill went 2-3 on the day with a home run while working two walks in the batter's box. Bauman, Williams, Wiles,
Evan Meier,
Sam Meyer, and
Alex Mendes all recorded solo hits against the Broncs on Friday afternoon.
Accredited with his second loss on the year,
Serigne Sarre recorded six strikeouts against Rider through six innings of work on the mound. And
Jake Andrews featured prominently out of the bullpen during the eighth and ninth innings, allowing one hit while walking two batters and striking out four.
