EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 21, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's baseball fell to Rider in game two of this weekend's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference series by a score of 6-2. With the loss, the Mountaineers skid to an overall record of 10-10 with a MAAC record of 4-4.
Rider jumped out to an early 6-0 lead through the first five innings of the game before an
Evan Meier singled through the right side of the infield to break up the no hitter. Two more singles followed in succession as
Christian Bauman singled past the second basemen and
Alex Mendes singled through the right side to load the bases. Meier scored a plate appearance later as Rudisill hit into a deep sacrifice fly out to left field, sending Meier home for the first Mount run of the game.
One more run for the Mountaineers came into score during game two as
Alex Mendes sent a towering shot out to right field to cut the lead to four runs.
Mendes led the Mount bats on Saturday, going 2-2 with an RBI and a home run while working a walk and being hit by a pitch. Meier and Bauman both recorded solo hits on the day while Rudisill recorded an RBI.
Eli DeRossi was charged with four earned runs on the day against the Broncs while striking out nine batters in five innings of work. Jash Halcisak came into throw four innings of one run baseball from the pen, striking out one while allowing four hits.
