BALTIMORE, Md. — Mount St. Mary's women's tennis won its second consecutive match with a 4–3 victory over Loyola at the McClure Tennis Center. With the win, the Mount improved to 4–7 on the season while Loyola fell to 0–4.
Loyola captured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Christine Richiez and Emma Roeck edged Bella Pescatore and Venus Tang, 7–5, at the top position, while Elena Hartley and Emi Shivkumar defeated Anna Barlini and Emma Perkins, 6–2, at No. 2. The No. 3 doubles match featuring Margherita Trolese and Eirini Tsakiri against Victoria Epps and Mia Matriccino was unfinished with the Mount pair leading 5–4.
Mount responded with a strong showing in singles, winning four of the six matches to secure the team victory. Venus Tang started the rally with a 6–2, 6–3 win over Hartley at No. 3 singles, and Margherita Trolese followed with a convincing 6–2, 6–2 victory against Roeck at No. 4.
Bella Pescatore added a dominant 6–1, 6–1 win over Epps at No. 5, and Anna Barlini clinched the match for the Mount with a 6–3, 6–2 triumph over Lily Langhus at No. 6.
Loyola picked up wins at the top two singles spots in match tiebreaks. Richiez defeated Emma Perkins, 7–5, 1–6, 10–7 at No. 1, while Mia Matriccino rallied past Eirini Tsakiri, 0–6, 6–4, 10–6 at No. 2.
