Brooke Molchanoff Sets Single Game Goals Record; Mount Women’s Lacrosse Defeats Lehigh

EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 11, 2026) – Scoring nine times on Wednesday, Mount St. Mary's sophomore Brooke Molchanoff broke the women's lacrosse single game record for goals in a 20-12 win over Lehigh.

Molchanoff's record broke the previous mark set by Abby Osmeyer in 2023. The Mount has single game records dating back to 2003, when game-by-game data statistics were tracked electronically.

The sophomore was one of seven players to register a goal for the Mount. Morgan Ortega also set a career high for goals with four on the afternoon. Peyton Sims and Ava Kraszewski had multi-goal efforts as well. Addie Petti scored her first collegiate goal, and Ella Curci and Shannon McTavish posted one goal each.

Camille Thomas set a season high for saves with 12, one short of her career best of 13. Hailey Chester finished with five ground balls and tied her career high of four caused turnovers.

With the win, Mount St. Mary's improves to 4-3 this season.

HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
  • The home side jumped out of the gate with a 3-0 lead. Sims, Kraszewski, and Molchanoff combined for the advantage.
  • Lehigh would cut the deficit to 3-2, but the Mount answered with a 6-1 run to capture control. Molchanoff provided four of the six goals.
  • Leading 11-5 at halftime, goals by Ortega, Molchanoff, and Petti provided extra cushion. It would be part of a seven-goal output in the third to garner a double-digit lead.
  • Molchanoff had the record with 1:02 remaining in the third quarter.
  • McTavish and Curci added their goals in the fourth quarter.
