Defense Puts in Strong Effort, but Mount Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Cincinnati

EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 1, 2026) – A superb effort from the defense helped the Mount women's lacrosse team remain in contention with the Cincinnati Bearcats. But meeting strength for strength, Cincinnati's defense was also solid as the Mount fell 9-6 on Sunday.

Shannon McTavish and Ella Curci had big days on defense, combining for 10 of the team's 17 ground balls and four of the six caused turnovers. Hailey Chester and Mackey Fick accounted for a caused turnover each.

On offense, Peyton Sims and Brooke Molchanoff were multi-goal scorers, taking advantage of free position shots. MK Allingham and McTavish added goals as well.

With the defeat, Mount St. Mary's is 2-3 this season.
