MOUNT JOY, Pa. (February 8, 2026) – Rallying from third place, Mount St. Mary's appeared in the championship final of the 8
th Annual Mount Shootout. They would take the runner-up spot and finish 9-4 for the weekend.
Sunday started with a sweep of UMES, where the Mount averaged 249.75 across the four games. Moving on to play Duquesne, the Mountaineers would capture the set in five games by earning scores of 267, 214, and 225 to break a 1-1 deadlock. In the championship match, the team got off to a good start by rolling a 251. Niagara won games 2-4 before the Mount applied pressure with a 202-196 game five. The Purple Eagles won the Mount Shootout with a 249-178 game six.
Niagara took the Mount Shootout championship for the first time. Mount St. Mary's – four-time champion as the host – earned its second runner-up honor for this tournament's history.
