EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 14, 2026) – Nine different Mountaineers posted a goal – three of them hat tricks – as Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse defeated Duquesne 19-13 Saturday afternoon in Pittsburgh. The result gives
Lauren Skellchock her 100
th career victory as head coach for the team.
Peyton Sims recorded not only her first career hat trick, but also her first career multi-goal game with four goals to lead the scoring.
Morgan Ortega added her first hat trick, and
Ava Kraszewski earned her second in as many games.
MK Allingham ended the game as the leader in points, adding four assists to her two goals. The assist and point total serve as career highs for the senior.
Emily Lee and
Carter Eberle posted their first career college goals.
Shannon McTavish doubled her previous career high for draw controls, securing 12 of the team's 24 possession wins. The total is the most draw controls for a Mount individual in a game since Julianna Sanchez earned 12 against Iona in April 2023.
Mount St. Mary's took control of the game after a pair of four-goal runs by each team. Sims broke the deadlock with 4:37 in the first, inspiring a 3-0 run for a 7-4 advantage. In the second, the Mount blew up the contest with seven of the next eight goals. Allingham notched a 14-5 lead with 1:41 to go before Duquesne tacked on a late goal to make it 14-6 at half. The sides matched in the third quarter, and the Dukes earned a 4-2 edge in the final frame with the game in hand.
One week from now, Mount St. Mary's goes for a second consecutive win as they take on Lafayette February 21.
