Lewisburg, Pa. (January 31, 2026_ — The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team came up just short on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-3 to Bucknell in a tightly contested non-conference matchup in Lewisburg.
The Mount struck first by claiming the doubles point with victories on courts one and two. Bella Pescatore and Venus Tang opened the match with a 6-4 win over Abby Platt and Riley Jennings at No. 1 doubles, while Emma Perkins and Anna Barlini followed with a 6-4 victory against Jaycie Mair and Mirra Manolov on court two. Bucknell picked up its lone doubles win at No. 3, as Natalie Devraj and Cameron King defeated Eirini Tsakiri and Margherita Trolese, 6-2.
Bucknell responded in singles play with back-to-back wins on courts three and one to take a 2-1 lead. Tori Allen topped Tsakiri in straight sets at No. 3, 6-4, 6-0, before Platt defeated Tang, 6-4, 6-3, at the top spot.
Mount St. Mary's tied the match at two with a three-set victory on court six, as Anna Barlini rallied past Devraj after dropping the opening set, winning 0-6, 6-1, 6-2. The Mount then regained the lead when Margherita Trolese earned a straight-set win over Jaycie Mair at No. 4, 7-5, 6-4.
With the score tied at three and two matches remaining, Bucknell clinched the victory with wins on courts two and five. Riley Jennings evened the match with a three-set win over Emma Perkins at No. 2 singles before Cameron King sealed the decision on court five, edging Rosenbach in a three-set battle, 6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-4.
