Mount Women’s Basketball Looks to Stay in MAAC Top Six, Host Saint Peter’s

EMMITSBURG, Md. (January 30, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's women's basketball climbed back into the top six of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) standings with their win over Rider last Thursday. They look to cement their place with another win as they host Saint Peter's Saturday in Emmitsburg.
 
MOUNT UPDATE
  • Giana Hoddinott and Jaedyn Jamison secured career highs for points in the team's 70-59 win over Rider. Hoddinott finished with 18 points while Jamison added 13. Alana Powell and Amber Bullard also earned double figures for the game. Wesleigh Ferguson led in rebounds with nine.
  • The team tied their season high with 22 free throws made and went to the line 29 times. Hoddinott (9) and Nyodie Guerard (4) set career highs for foul shots.
  • Mount St. Mary's is now 3-2 in their last five games, improving to 6-6 in MAAC play. Since the injury to Gabrielle Kennerly five games ago, Hoddinott leads in points per game at 12.2 and Bullard is shooting 55 percent from the floor.
SCOUTING THE PEACOCKS
  • Saint Peter's has won two of the last three games, defeating Iona and Rider. The Peacocks also have league wins over Canisius and Niagara.
  • De'Naya Rippey is the statistical leader for the team, leading in points (13.3), rebounds (8.7) and steals (2.0) per game. Louella Allana has the most assists with 60 for the season.
  • The Peacocks are last in the MAAC for scoring offense at 51.7 points per game, but that number improves to 10th in the league for conference games. On defense, they concede 64 points per game – which is seventh in the league.
MAAC STANDINGS
  • Mount St. Mary's holds sixth place in the conference by virtue of their tiebreaking head-to-head win over Iona. The Gaels are the next opponent in a rematch at New Rochelle on February 5.
  • Saint Peter's has a two-and-a-half game cushion on the 10th and final spot in the upcoming MAAC tournament ahead of Rider.

The contest with Iona begins a two-game road swing where the Mount also travels to Sacred Heart February 7.
