JERSEY CITY, N.J. (January 10, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's women's basketball pulled off a fourth quarter comeback to defeat Saint Peter's 55-51 on Saturday at Run Baby Run Arena. The Mount overturned a three-game slide to improve to 7-8 and 3-3 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
Gabrielle Kennerly and
Amber Bullard posted double digit scoring efforts. Kennerly had 14 points – including six key points in the final frame – to lead the team. Bullard finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Zaria Harleaux came off the bench to earn a gritty performance of seven rebounds, six points and four steals.
Saint Peter's got the bulk of their points off the bench, led by 15 from Carys Roy. The Peracocks are now 3-13 (2-5 MAAC) this year.
HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
- Mount jumped out to 9-2 lead with five points from Kennerly. Bullard chipped in four down the stretch but Saint Peter's rallied to level the score at 13-13 after one.
- Bench scoring and points in the paint piloted Saint Peter's to a 29-22 halftime advantage.
- The Mount came out of the second half on a 5-0 run to force a Peacocks timeout. Saint Peter's returned the favor to force a Mountaineers at 38-32 with 4:58 to go in the third quarter.
- Mount St. Mary's won the third quarter, 15-12, trailing 41-37 entering the fourth.
- Down 50-46 with five minutes to play, the Mount played stout defense and secured two key buckets to tie. Harleaux earned a putback layup, then secured a steal which allowed Alana Powell to dish to Kennerly.
- Free throws by Kennerly and Jaedyn Jamison sealed the win.
