EMMITSBURG, Md. (August 28, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's sophomore
Eliot O'Neil posted his first goal of the season in a Thursday evening showdown at Binghamton. The Mountaineers would concede twice and fall to the Bearcats, 2-1.
O'Neil strike came at the end of the 70
th minute and served as the equalizer at the time.
Sherwin Chen ducked past a defender at the end line and was able to find his teammate at the center of the box, who plastered a shot off his right foot.
The strike serves as O'Neil's first college goal and first points since August 25, 2024, when he provided an assist against Robert Morris. Chen's last assist came October 12, 2024 versus Sacred Heart.
Binghamton's two goals were in the 10
th minute by Kevaughn Harris, and in the 77
th minute by Alex Balkey which ended up as the game winner.
Mount St. Mary's is now 0-1-1 on the campaign. This Labor Day (Sept. 1), the Mount heads to Robert Morris for a 4 p.m. rematch against the Colonials.
