Kehoe’s Brace Leads to Opening Match Draw for Mount Men’s Soccer

EMMITSBURG, Md. (August 21, 2025) – Trailing 2-0 in the second half, Mount St. Mary's men's soccer pushed in the final 25 minutes. A brace by Jack Kehoe completed the charge as the Mountaineers earned a 2-2 draw in the 2025 season opener.

Kehoe registered the first goal off a crossbar rebound in the 70th minute to get the Mount on the board. Continuing to play forward, the visitors capitalized again with only minutes to spare as Luciano Schiaffini drove a ball into the center of the box, providing a perfect placement for Kehoe to head the equalizer into the lower left corner.

Schiffiani earned an assist on the equalizer, and Kehoe registered his first brace as a Mountaineer.

The Mount ended up outshooting the Midshipmen 13-12 and put six shots on goal to Navy's four.

Mount St. Mary's opens the season with a positive result for the first time since 2021, when that team defeated Saint Peter's. The result also marks the second draw against Navy, equaling an effort of a 2004 match.

Next Thursday (Aug. 28), the Mountaineers travel to Binghamton to take on the Bearcats. The contest is a rematch of a 2024 game in Emmitsburg.
