EMMITSBURG, Md. (August 13, 2025) – In preparation for the full unveiling of the 2025-26 schedule, Mount St. Mary's men's and women's basketball reveal their home opening games to kick off the 38
th season of basketball at Knott Arena.
Mount's men begin their defense of the 2024-25 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championship on the road but return home for the second game of the season on Friday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m. Pre-game ceremonies include the raising of the championship banner and debut of a new videoboard and scoreboard system as part of arena renovations. Their opponent is the Bucknell Bison out of the Patriot League, who prepare to square off with the Mountaineers for the 26
th time. Last season in Lewisburg, the Mount emerged victorious from a 93-89 double overtime thriller.
On the women's side, their home opener is the fourth game of the season on Saturday, November 15 at 3 p.m. against the Morgan State Bears. The Mountaineer women are coming off a 12-8 mark in MAAC play, finishing fourth in the league and giving eventual conference champion Fairfield a nail-biting finish before falling in the tournament semifinals. Against Morgan State, the Mountaineers trail in the all-time series 9-7 and are looking to avenge a 72-68 defeat in Baltimore last December.
