EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 24, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse had six members of the team honored as part of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-MAAC awards, announced by the league on Thursday. In addition to these honors voting by the conference coaches, Mount Head Coach
Lauren Skellchock received the Coach of the Year Award from her peers.
Mackenzi Furlong,
Anna Salerno, and
Hailey Chester were all named First Team selections.
Molly Molchanoff and
Camille Thomas received Second Team nods.
Brooke Molchanoff was a unanimous All-Rookie honoree.
Salerno and Furlong led the Mountaineers offense during 2025, with the duo combining for 79 of the team's 182 goals. With 50 goals, Salerno is second in the MAAC for goals per game. Furlong ranks eighth in the conference with 21 assists (1.31 per game) along with her 29 goals. Salerno's points per game total ranks sixth in the conference.
Chester finished the regular season with 58 draw controls – good for eighth in the MAAC – and a season best 17 caused turnovers to help earn First Team Defensive Honors. Her career draw control total stands at 145, good for seventh best in Mount history.
Molly Molchanoff finished with 44 draws while adding 12 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers.
Thomas excelled in goal for the Mountaineers, earning 124 saves and 9.48 goals against average. She was third in the MAAC for GAA's as well as save percentage at .459. The sophomore had five double digit save games, capping out at 13 against Cincinnati.
Skellchock is in her 11
th season and won Coach of the Year honors for the fourth time. Her first three honors came from the Northeast Conference in 2018, 2019, and 2021. This is the Mount's third season as a first place team under Skellchock.
In addition to the All-MAAC honors for on-field play, 15 members of the team were recipients of All-Academic honors. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
Mount St. Mary's clinched the top seed at the upcoming MAAC Championship and earned a share of the regular season title. The Mountaineers host the conference semifinals on May 2 and the championship game on May 4.
