EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 22, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's baseball lost to the George Mason Patriots on Tuesday by a score of 16-3 in nine innings. With the loss, the Mountaineers fall to a 15-24 record while maintaining a conference record of 8-10 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
The Mountaineers struck first against the Patriots after
Logan Yi walked with the bases load to drive in
Ty Fredo, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Fredo featured in more action at the plate later in the bottom of the second after the sophomore from New Jersey hit out a two-run home run to take a 3-0 lead. After that, the George Mason pitching shutout the Mountaineers offense while accumulating the run support to best the home side.
Fredo led the way at the plate, going 2-5 with two RBIs off of his scoreboard hitting home run. As well as going 1-2 from the plate today,
Mateo Zeppieri drew three walks while playing as the days designated hitter. Yi along with
Mikey Rodriguez,
Evan Meier,
Jacob Slusarski, and
Joey Agar all also notched hits against the Patriots.
Jake Andrews and
Tommy Moore logged 2.0 innings of work a piece today while holding George Mason to zero runs in their respective outings, combining for three Patriot strikeouts.
