North Haven, Conn. – April 12, 2025 — Mount St. Mary's women's tennis fell to Quinnipiac, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action. With the loss, the Mount drops to 2-17 overall and 1-5 in MAAC play. Quinnipiac improves to 8-8 on the season and remains unbeaten in the MAAC at 6-0.
The Bobcats struck first by capturing the doubles point, taking two of the three matchups. Quinnipiac posted wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, while the Mount's pairing of Margherita Trolese and Amari O'Brien earned a commanding 6-0 win at No. 2.
In singles play, Quinnipiac secured straight-set victories on four courts to clinch the match. Venus Tang was defeated by Willow Renton, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 1, while Trolese fell to Caitlin Flower, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 2. Kaajal Ramisetty dropped a 6-0, 6-3 decision to Anagha Shankar at No. 3, and Valentine Mudry was topped by Jordan Bradley at No. 6, 6-4, 6-0.
Singles matches at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions were not played, and with the match already decided, play was halted, resulting in the 5-0 final.
Mount St. Mary's will return to action on Sunday with a road matchup at Fairfield as they continue MAAC play.
