EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 8, 2025) – Halfway through the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Sectionals in Allen Park, Michigan, Mount St. Mary's holds down fifth place.
Garnering a total pinfall of 6,057 after 32 Baker games, the team sits 61 pins behind Marian University of Indiana for fourth place, which would qualify them for the spot in the USBC Nationals next month.
The afternoon session was pivotal to set up the Mount and place them within striking distance of the top four. They finished the morning session in seventh, then made the push early with 200 or better games in round 17, 19, 20, and 21. The latest game in the grouping was a 237, their second best score on the day. Mount topped out at 245 in the morning rounds.
By averaging 193.75 in the second group of 16 Baker matches, Mount St. Mary's was able to leap over Rochester and Midway in the standings.
North Carolina A&T leads the field, followed by Pikeville in second and Saint Xavier in third.
The third session begins Sunday at 7:45 a.m. from Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park.
