BERLIN, Md. (March 28th, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's is tied for third place following the first round of the Battle of Rum Pointe with a cumulative score of 292 (+4), just four strokes from first place. The Mountaineers are led by
Aaron Sorkin after the senior posted an -1 round of 71 and is tied for fourth place.
Colgate and Fairfield currently hold first place in the tournament after each team tallying a score of 288 which is even. Behind Colgate and Fairfield are the Mount and Iona who are both tied for third, four strokes behind the two teams tied for first. Louie Giovacchini of Rider, Peter Crowe of Fairfield and Freddie Tucker of Iona currently lead the individual leader board with a first-round score of 70 (-2).
To round out scoring,
Daniel Shelley stands tied for 11
th after shooting a 73 (+1), while
Devin Smith and
Santiago Bonequi both stand tied for 21
st after shooting a 74 (+2).
Martin Hurtado stands tied for 40
th with teammate
Felix Lin, both tallying a score of 76 (+4).
Nathan Pheng completed round one with a score of 85 (+13).
