TYSONS CORNER, Va. (March 25, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's baseball was defeated in their midweek clash away at Georgetown by a slim margin of 4-2. With the loss, the Mountaineers move to 10-13 on the year before they resume their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play on March 28 with their away series against Merrimack away in North Andover.
The Mountaineers started the scoring early in the top of the first when a fake steal from
Nolan Book bought enough time on the base paths for
Ty Fredo to steal home for a 1-0 lead. Two runs for the Hoyas came across the plate in the bottom of the first to take the lead over the Mountaineers. Georgetown added tow more runs in the bottom of the fourth before the Mount scored their final run in the top of the seventh after a
Jake Maske pinch hit single scored
Alex Mendes.
Fredo, Mendes, and Book all notched 1-3 days from the plate while Make went 1-1 with an RBI in his pinch-hit appearance for the Mount.
Owen Crowe was accredited with the loss on the day against the Hoyas while walking three and striking out four batters.
Kaden Kimble made an appearance to finish out the game for the Mountaineers while striking out two Georgetown batters.
