Aaron Sorkin leads Mount St. Mary's golfers after the first day of the Carpetbagger Classic currently in first place with a score of 70 (-2). Sorkin's scorecard includes one eagle on hole nine. As a team, the Mountaineers are also in first on the team leaderboard, shooting a 293 (+5).
Following the Mount in second place on the team leaderboard is Wagner who is four strokes behind the Mount. Wagner holds a one-stroke lead over Merrimack in third. Then following Sorkin on the individual leaderboard in second place are Alex Gekas of LaSalle, Joshua Siplin of Howard and Thomas Choi of Wagner who are all tied with a score of 71 (-1).
Devin Smith stands tied for fifth, going even for a 72 score, while
Martin Hurtado stands tied for 15
th following a 75 (+3) day. Hurtado's scorecard like Sorkin accounts for an eagle on hole five.
Santiago Bonequi stands tied for 28
th place with a score of 76 (+4), while
Felix Lin stands tied for 36
th with a score of 77 (+5).
There are also three men's golfers who are competing as independent in this tournament. The golfers are

Fisher Coleman-Sayer. Shelley and Pheng stand tied for 46
