Emmitsburg, Md (March 1, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's lacrosse fell to Monmouth in the unofficial "M" Bowl on Saturday (Mar. 1), 11-10.

Brody Atkinson added five to his multi-goal game streak today. With the five goals, he is ten goals below his season high from last year, which was 20.
Jack Smith contributed two goals, two assists, and four groundballs in the contest.
Carter Quested matched Smith's goal efforts with two of his own, an assist, and three groundballs.
Marcelo Carreiro scored one goal and two groundballs for the Mountaineers.
Kevin Whitty led the Mount in assists with three today, and shows eight on the season.
The Mount showed three different faceoff specialists today with
Jaden Saysanam competing in 12 and winning four.
Ansen Park won three of the four taken, and
Garrett Conley won six of the nine.
Bennett Wright showed strength in the net today, facing 46 shots. Wright tallied 18 saves of the 29 on goal, showing a .621 save percentage. Wright's highest save count came in the second quarter, saving eight and allowing three.
Monmouth opened the scoring for the Mount, scoring a goal just over two minutes into the game. The Hawks held the lead for the majority of the opening quarter, before
Brody Atkinson scored his first goal of the game with 6:22 left on the clock. Monmouth answered with a goal of their own less than a minute later. The Hawks would control the remainder of the quarter, scoring one more goal to give them the lead at the end of the first quarter.
Brody Atkinson scored his second goal of the day to open Mount's second quarter scoring, assisted by
Jack Smith. Reminiscent of the first quarter, Monmouth scored off the following faceoff, only taking two seconds off the quarter. The Hawks would score one more goal before Atkinson secured his hat trick, Monmouth holding the lead 5-3. Both teams would score one more goal before the end of the first half. Mount's final goal of the half comes from
Carter Quested who adds to his freshman campaign goal total (13). At the end of the half the Hawks held control, 6-4.
The first goal of the second half wasn't scored until Monmouth netted one with eight minutes remaining in the third.
Brody Atkinson answered for the Mount scoring a goal on an assist from
Will McKay. He would score his final goal of the game after another Monmouth goal.
Jack Smith brought the Mount within one goal with five minutes remaining on the clock in the third quarter.
Carter Quested tied the game for the Mountaineers, 8-8. The Mount took their only lead of the game with two minutes remaining in the third quarter, 9-8.
The Mount was outscored 3-1 in the fourth quarter, securing Monmouth the win. The Mountaineers only goal was scored by
Jack Smith, his second of the game. Monmouth scored the final goal of the game, securing the win.
Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play begins March 8 with a home game versus Quinnipiac. First faceoff is at 11 a.m.
