DeLand, Fla. (March 1, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's baseball lost out during the second day in the Sunshine State as they were defeated by Stetson by a score of 6-1. The Mount moved to a 6-3 record on Saturday and a 0-2 record during their trip to Florida.
Stetson started the offense early in the first inning after the hatters hit out back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the inning to give the home side a three run lead on the Mountaineers. The Mountaineers started their scoring in the top of the fourth after a sacrifice fly from
Joey Agar drove in
Nolan Book from third base. Two more runs for Stetson came in the top of the fifth as a double to left drove in the base runners. One final run for the Hatters came in the bottom of the eighth as an error by the catcher scored the runner from third base.
Agar scored the only RBI for the Mountaineers of the day as the catcher went 0-2 with a walk.
Evan Meier went 2-4 and
Bryce Rudisill went 1-4.
Alex Mendes went 1-1 with a walk against Stetson as well.
Serigne Sarre started the game for the Mount, pitching 4.2 innings while striking out three batters during his outing. Sarre was accredited with two earned runs and his second loss on the season.
