Mount St. Mary’s Bowling Finishes Fourth in Home Tournament

EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 9, 2025) – Concluding the 7th Annual Mount Shootout, the home Mountaineers bowling squad finished in fourth place.

The final day was a tough one for the team. They began as the No. 2 seed but found themselves in a hole to the top-seeded FDU Knights. Rallying from a 2-0 deficit to tie game three, the Mount rolled a 220 game four and 270 game six, 10 frames from a roll-off. But a 225 from FDU sent Mount St. Mary's to battle Niagara for a second shot at the title game.

The Purple Eagles were even less forgiving, coming back from a 2-1 deficit to get the championship bout instead. That left Sacred Heart who dispatched the Mountaineers in five during the third place game.
