EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 7, 2025) – Averaging 214.8 pins per game Friday, Mount St. Mary's bowling holds down first place after the first day of the Mount Shootout.
The team went 3-1 for the opening day, including their fourth highest game score in program history. Kicking off proceedings the Mountaineers logged a 1,170 series to get past a serious challenge of 1,082 from Niagara. They would fall to Delaware State despite piecing a 1,045 series but finished the day with victories over Dominican and Holy Family.
It is a tight race at the top, with the Mount 18 pins ahead of second place Sacred Heart. Fairleigh Dickinson is sitting in third about 75 pins back.
